Naturally, we all have our favorites. Soma call it taste. But I don’t really believe in taste in music. Or at least I don’t think I have a taste for some specific style of music. Because I do listen and like all sorts of music from Adele to some songs of Taylor Swift, I can appreciate what a versatile artists is Bruno Mars, I have always loved listening to rock including Bryan Adams, David Bowie and the Foo Fighters but recently I started listening to Jazz and Blues, which I also enjoy. I also had my moments with classical music as well as pop songs, grudge, electronic music and more.
Let’s start with the legends. Even though I spent most of my teen years as a soft rock fan, an expected meeting with my brother in law introduced me the legendary music – The Doors, The Who, The Eagles, and Eric Clapton as well as Queen, Radiohead, Metallica and a lot more.
And then along came the Beatles. I admit, I was quite late to the party. But it did begin with the full force – I listened to every album, every live show, their solo works, a read about their history, about the murder of John Lennon, and the life of the Beatles after that. It lasted for about a year or so. But they are still my favorite music band of all time.
As far as contemporary music goes, I love everyone. Foo Fighters, The Killers, The Muse, Greenday, Maroon 5, Clean Bandit. There are so many artists that I enjoy that it would probably be just easier to list the ones that I don’t. However, even though that list would be short, I don’t want to do it. There is a chance I may someday like them.
My favorite YouTube artists are arguably the Walk off the Earth. A few years ago they made a cover of “Somebody I used to know” which became a massive hit and since I’ve listened to everything what they create. Their latest covers include Adelle’s Hello which was made incredibly well.
